Tillington
Village Hall is situated in the heart of the village, close to All
Hallows Church and the Horse Guards Inn. The hall
was completely refurbished in 2005, including full central heating, a new kitchen,
coffee shop, re-surfaced floor and facilities for the disabled. With the closure of the village shop and
post office some years ago, Tillington village hall is now the social
centre of this rural community. Several clubs, education and keep
fit classes and social events are held in the hall (see
organisations page). It is also an ideal venue for meetings,
exhibitions, wedding receptions, business away days, family parties,
social events and much more. The Main Hall is 75ft x 24ft (23m x 7.3m), fully heated and with a impressive, polished parquet floor. It has a seating capacity of over 100 and dining facilities for around 90 people. A portable staging system is available, providing up to 20m2 of elevated space. Four moveable screens are also available to form a break out room (business use) or to re-shape the internal space. The hall is equipped with two projector screens; one large screen for audiences of up to 80 people and a two metre screen for smaller groups. Both 35mm and computer projection equipment are available. In addition to standard rectangular tables, we also have ten round tables (each seating eight people) for a small additional hire charge. The Coffee Shop is used weekly to serve coffee and home made cakes, and monthly as a Luncheon Club for 20 guests. It can, however be configured as a meeting room, break out room (business use). or to provide coffee and dining facilities for meetings, etc in the main hall. An in-house team can cater for all functions held in the village hall. The Coffee Shop is open every Wednesday morning from 10.30am to 12.00 noon for coffee/tea and cakes. Visitors to Tillington are always welcome. There is a Luncheon Club on the last Friday in every month and anyone over 50 years of age living in the Parish of Tillington is most welcome. The village hall also houses the 'Village Printshop' which prints the 'Three Parishes Magazine' every month. The village hall is a registered charity and is administered by the Village Hall Management Committee
