All Hallows Church has long been a favourite with artists, both amateur and professional. John Constable made a particular study in 1834 and during his long stays at Petworth House, J M W Turner put the church tower into the background of several of his paintings.
During the summer months recreational artists and art groups can regularly been seen finding just the right view of the church
